I went down to the beach at around 8am and everyone else followed shortly. I had a hotdog and coffee for breakfast at around 10:30am (healthy)! Stayed on the beach until about 12:30 then went back to the room for a shower before checking out at 1pm.

We all had lunch then met the coach driver in the lobby at 2pm. We all said our sad goodbye's to Sharon and Jools who had paid to stay a whole extra week until Saturday, then we set off on our 6 hour coach journey back to Havana airport. Most of the journey was OK, as the scenery was beautiful and I chatted alot to Julia, but after we stopped for a quick toilet break after about three hours, the rest of the journey started to drag on a bit (particularly after it got dark). I was quite pensive on this part of the coach journey and reflected on the time I had spent in Cuba.
I have mixed feelings about leaving Cuba as I have fallen totally in love with this beautiful country and am incredibly sad to leave it behind, but I'm also missing my family and am looking forward to getting home to see them again.
It's been the trip of a lifetime where I have spent time with a great, diverse group of people. We got to know each other in an incredibly short space of time and bonded quickly, forming close relationships which under normal circumstances would have taken much longer to form. I truly hope that we stay in touch for many years to come.
We were brought together by Spam, Alex's briefings, weeing in fields, immodium, cockroaches, 'My favourite things' (Cuban version) the most revolting toilets known to man and of course 'undulations', but we have to remember in the words of the great Alfredo, 'Eez no so bad'.
