However, Ros, Mark, Chas and Dave are leaving tomorrow so it was our last day together as a whole group. I rested for most of the day, going down to the beach and the pool bar occasionally and meeting up with different members of the group.
We all did different things today. Some of us milled around the hotel, some went into Trinidad. I felt oddly deflated and wished that I could be back on my bike. I had really looked forward to sitting around on a Caribbean beach doing nothing, but the reality of the situation is that I preferred cycling through rural Cuba and mixing with people and seeing them go about their lives.
In the evening we were picked up by three 1950's cadillacs courtesy of Fernando (who some of the girls had met on the beach during the day). We paid 12 pesos (approximately £6.00) to be collected in these cars, driven to Fernando's house, have a lobster dinner with wine and then be driven back to the hotel. Not bad! The dinner was delicious and we were then offered cigars (which fell off the back of a lorry). I didn't buy any as I'd already bought plenty in Havana. I did buy a necklace and bracelet from the bedroom/shop though. Jools and Julia came back from the toilet in fits of hysterical laughter having realised that there was a pig next to them while they were in the loo.
We got a lift back to the hotel in the cadillacs, then had a few drinks in the pool bar. Everyone then went to the disco, but I was knackered so I said goodbye to Ros, Mark, Chas and Dave who are leaving in the morning and went to bed.
